At TRI, our Diagnostic Vocational Evaluation (DVE) is a targeted assessment designed to identify the vocational strengths, challenges, and support needs of individuals who may be facing barriers to employment or training.

What the DVE Assesses

We use a combination of standardized tests, hands-on tasks, and professional observations to evaluate:

Functional Academic Skills
  • Reading, writing, and math in the context of job-related demands
Cognitive and Learning Abilities
  • Memory, attention, problem-solving, and processing speed
Emotional and Behavioral Factors
  • Work tolerance, frustration levels, motivation, and social interactions
Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • Fine motor skills, stamina, vision, and hearing as related to work tasks
Work Personality and Soft Skills
  • Attendance, punctuality, initiative, teamwork, and response to supervision

What You’ll Receive

After the evaluation, we provide a detailed diagnostic report that includes:

  • Vocational strengths and limitations.
  • Barriers and functional implications.
  • Recommendations for services, supports, and next steps.
  • Guidance for vocational rehabilitation or Individualized Employment Plans.
