This six week summer program is designed for the student with a 12 month Individualized Education Plan who requires training in travel and independent living skills; the skills critical to a successful transition into the adult world.

At the completion of program the student will have field experience utilizing the public transportation system; Mass Transit Authority bus system and the Long Island Rail Road system. In addition public and personal safety issues are addressed as well as, directionality, map reading and community integration.

The student will receive instruction on independent living skills including laundry, community awareness, cooking, nutrition, consumerism, budgeting and banking.
